The cruise destination of Fredericia in Denmark gets considerable international attention

At Cruise Fredericia, we have worked intensively to strengthen our position as a “must-see” cruise destination and it looks like our strong efforts are paying off. In the past two years, we have continued to break our own record in the number of cruise calls to Fredericia and our success will continue in the years to come.

 Looking into the season of 2019, we can present 20 calls - a growth of around 150 percent compared to 2017. For the season of 2018, we are not breaking any records but we are looking forward to welcoming four maiden calls from several cruise lines including M/V Ocean Majesty from Majesty International Cruises, AIDAcara from AIDA Cruises, Viking Sun and Viking Sky from Viking.

The sales and marketing team of Cruise Fredericia and Visit Fredericia attends the world's largest cruise fair, Seatrade Cruise Global in Fort Lauderdale from March 6 – 8 2018 in order to promote the destination of Fredericia.

Diamond Partnership
Since 2016, Cruise Fredericia has been a partner of Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) and has used the global platform to create awareness of the value that Cruise Fredericia and its partners can bring to the cruise industry. As part of our growth strategy, we have decided to upgrade our CLIA partnership to the Diamond level, which will benefit Cruise Fredericia in a number of areas moving forward. The partnership agreement supports our sales- and marketing team with industry insights as well as opportunities for relation-building activities with key decision makers within the wider cruise industry.

Destination development
Cruise Fredericia has caught international attention from many cruise lines, and with very positive reviews from the cruise guests, we know that our cruise destination is attractive. We have a strong focus on the development of authentic experiences for the guests.

Obviously, the growth in cruise calls demands an increased number of educated cruise guides. For this reason, Visit Fredericia launches a new cruise guide education in 2018, meaning that more guides with extensive language skills will be ready to welcome the increased number of cruise guests from many different nationalities in the years to come.

“We will increase the number of highly qualified cruise guides with extensive language skills that can meet the guest’s expectations for authentic experiences. All guides will be educated in disciplines like how to create a memorable tour experience, as well as the way to put stories into perspective through storytelling”, says Helle Rosborg Black, Cruise Coordinator, Visit Fredericia.

The new guide team in Fredericia will end their education before the beginning of this year’s cruise season and we look forward welcoming cruise guests with even more authentic and professional experiences in Fredericia.

Grey water facilities
As of May 2018, Cruise Fredericia will also be ready with pipeline facilities for the reception of grey water from the cruise ships.
